Albeit a bit morbid, this is a fun, free game that players of all ages will enjoy. Seems like NCBuy, the company that offers this game free of charge, realized that computer users of all ages will play this game, including young users, so it put a disclaimer at the start of the game – no kangaroos will be harmed in the making of this game.

Why would NCBuy put such a disclaimer? To answer that we have to explain what HangARoo is and how it works. I assume by now you already figured out HangARoo is a game – I did mention it is a game in the first paragraph, so pay attention. What kind of game is HangARoo? It is a variation of the classic hangman game.

You have to guess a secret phrase to move to the next level. Fail to do so and the loudmouth kangaroo gets it. I mean he really gets it. He sits there on a stool, with a rope around his neck, commenting on your letter choices. If you choose 4 letters that are not in the secret phrase, the kangaroo will be hung. You know it dies because a kangaroo angel shows up, and boy does he look pissed. And why shouldn’t he be pissed, since you killed him! Now do you see how HangARoo is a bit morbid?

You can play HangARoo online at miniclip.com, which means you don’t have to download the game and install it on your computer. You can of course download and install it on your computer if you want to play it offline.

If you decide to do so, here are the bits and pieces you need to know about:
Download – the download weighs in at 2.3MB, which is good news. It means that getting HangARoo off the web and onto your computer will only take a moment. To my mind, not having to wait a long time for a download to complete is always nice.
Supported OS – according to the developer, HangARoo provides support for windows 98, NT, 2000, ME, and XP. But since it is a Flash-based game, it should work fine with any Windows version.
Limitations – the game is freeware, so there are no limitations.

Cons

• Be careful during the installation process or you will end up with some useless shortcuts on your desktop. The software also invites you to check out some sweepstakes thing during the installation process, so make sure to understand what you’re getting into before you click “Next.”
